Dividends for US Banks Dividends for US Banks
Dividend policy in the US eased by the FED. The Fed extended its restrictions on dividends and buybacks through 1Q21, but eased the cap put in place in June 2020. Starting in 1Q21, dividends and buybacks will be based upon income earned in in the preceding four quarters, which will allow most banks to resume share repurchase programs.
It seems the Fed is starting to allow the raising of dividends and share buy backs again.
If so it should show in tommorows trading.
