Pushback against the leftWe had a young friend over last evening.
A young, bold, creative, naive, and all-around great person.
He learns form us and we learn from him because everyone shares and everyone listens. Kinda like the way the world should work....but typically doesn't
Topic included: cancel, woke, the insanity of politics, the benefits and shortcomings of democracy and communism, and much more. Geez, I hardly had time to drink.
Other than the evening itself being a gift, my one takeaway is that there is finally a collective realization that there is a growing resistance to the unprepared, ill-advised, anger driven, demands of the left. Change can be good, but change without logic or reason is just change without logic or reason.
Our young friend doesn't have the constraints of feeling the need to protect a lifetime of collecting possessions. And yet, his views on where society appears to be heading at the moment were inspiring. He is fully aware of the divisiveness that is tearing apart our society, its sources, and the need for solutions.
Some of the old timers here such as Fantome and Marketsense (there are more of course, but they are my favourite writers) do what they can to impart the wisdom that they have picked up along the way. However, wisdom comes in many forms and we can learn from everyone.
Today, I hope Corey can keep his cool and do us proud at the Masters. It has been 18 years since Tiger put the green jacket on Mike Weir. We could all use a bit of good news.
