RE:Zero net carbon in 2050 fantasies

RE:Zero net carbon in 2050 fantasiesAs a geologically-minded person, I am always surprised that anyone thinks trees can do much for CO2.  Yes, they may be a great CO2 sink for what, 100, 500, or maybe 1,000 years, and then they fall, rot, and the cycle begins again.  So if that is your time frame of concern, then have at er.  If you think that man in one form or another (Homo Sapiens) has been impacting the planet for 300,000 years, or only 40,000 years, or even just the last 1,000 years, then the current crisis (no, not the COVID, BLM, Education, Day Care, or whatever crisis) in the environment only needs a 1,000 years solution.  If you know of the 140,000 year carbon cycle, then you wonder WTF is going on.
