Question about: Reverse circulation drilling

Question about: Reverse circulation drilling"Novo is conducting grade control and resource upgrade reverse circulation drilling across the Beatons Creek deposit. Drill samples are collected on half-metre intervals"

A half-metre is a little more than every 1 1/2 foot. Don't know what diameter the reverse drill is, but I first visualized drilling across the Beatons Creek deposit leaving holes spaced like in a door screen. Then it occurred to me that the half-metre intervals must be measured down the drill hole.

I learn a lot following Novo.

The YouTube link demonstrates how one reverse circulation drill operates. Seems instead of a drill core, drill chips are produced.

Do I understand correctly that the half-metre intervals is the distance between chip samples taken down the drill hole?
