water use and desalinationI'm heeding the advice not to engage with the anti-greenstone crusader. But as a follow up to the response comment which I agree with, it is important to note that seawater is being used in the heap leach process.
Section 1.13 of the PEA technical report covers expected water use for the project. It indicates that leaching will be performed using seawater-based process solutions and that a reverse osmosis plant will supply chloride-free (desalinated) water for SX/EW processing requirements. There are existing water desalination plants in close proximity to the project. There is no capex to build a new desalination plant from scratch. Plus for the concerns about what to do with the excess salt that comes from desalination, the PEA (table 21-10) indicates the company will be spending half a million dollars annually to purchase salt needed for the operation.
In a world where water access and environmental concerns are critically and increasingly important, this seems like an area of strength for Marimaca.
I don't think anyone who concludes water access issues could possibly kill this project has spent enough time reviewing technical reports which are available to everyone for free on sedar.
Patiently waiting to see some drilling results like everyone else, maybe this coming week?
