1Billion Dollar QuestionAs someone who has spent his entire working career in the mining industry, and as a long term shareholder, I’ve been following the performance of the President and CEO and BOD for many years. In my humble opinion, it’s imperative that you all understand that the President and CEO and BOD are at the end of their mining careers. They are not interested in lowering costs or acquiring another mining company to increase the ore production. This decision would require too much time and effort on their part and they are not equipped to handle such a task of this magnitude. The bottom line shareholders are that they are satisfied to remain neutral and maintain the status quo. The over 1Billion dollars sitting idle in the bank vault is their security blanket. At this stage of their careers, why would they risk jeopardizing their accumulated wealth? This was their financial strategy all along and they became big time winners on the back of the shareholders of course. In the near term, I wouldn’t be surprise to see some retirement announcements for a variety of reasons. Time is now against them and they better enjoy the sail into the sunset while they can.
