RE:Algoma future electric arc furnace = 8 burners = 24M$Peter confirms that it is possible to replace fossil fuel burners in EAF environment, like the one of Algoma and US Steel.

Regarding the Algoma 2024 design of the solution, he says they're into it, meaning that they are ready to present their plasma solution to Algoma.

Algoma future electric arc furnace = 8 burners = 24M$

P.13 shows in green the future technology (electric arc furnace) that Algoma plans to put in place by 2024 and for which they received 420M$ in federal support:

Q4F 2021 Investor Presentation (algoma.com)

Here's a video of what Algoma will install by 2024:

U.S. Steel's Electric Arc Furnace - YouTube

The video was shooted at a US Steel plant in Fairfield, Alabama.  At the 2 minute mark sharp, you'll hear the plant manager showing 8 natural gas burners.  Could these be replaced at the Algoma plant by those of PYR?  Quite possible, as the electric arc furnace will be installed by 2024.

As you can see below, electricity being available on site, it's indeed becoming logic to think that instead of using natural gas burners, that they could use our plasma torches, once they transform the plant.

Steel industry thrilled with Algoma Steel announcement

SUDBURY -- A steel producers’ association is ecstatic that Algoma Steel receiving hundreds of million of dollars from the federal government.

The head of the Canadian Steel Producers Association couldn’t contain her excitement about Algoma Steel in the Sault taking a major step in going green.

Every individual steel company is looking at what they can do," said Catherine Cobden, president and CEO of the Canadian Steel Producers Association.

“Algoma is taking coal out of the equation and instead is putting in recycled steel as a component of the steelmaking process,” said Cobden.

It basically uses the electricity system and since Canada has such a green electrical grid, it really helps in the greening up of this opportunity.”
