Normal Delays

Normal DelaysCanada’s mining industry is governed by both federal and provincial levels of government so there are bureaucratic overlaps. Provincial governments are currently the primary mining regulatory authorities but the federal government is involved in certain aspects such as environmental matters.  Both levels of government have been building their regulatory systems for several decades, which is why the system governing the country’s mining industry is so complex.  FCC is managing itself well through this bureaucratic jungle of  regulations and this takes time.
An example of the of the government overlaps is the need for FCC to undertake two environmental assessments – a federal assessment and a provincial assessment – for a single project.   Having to duplicate this proces takes significant time and effort.  This is just one of many examples so I'm not surprised this project is taking time.  Welcome to Canada where this is the norm. If this project where in a country such as Mexico, this thing would be up and running by now.  But at what cost?  So sit back, relax and be patient.  Nothing out of the ordinary going on.  Everything  is moving forward as planned.
