Nevada Copper Corp is a Canada-based mining company. The Company is engaged in the development, operation, and exploration of its copper project (the Project) at its Pumpkin Hollow Property (the Property) in Western Nevada, United States of America. they are going under the dike w a new level...  not a new shaft...  and yes..  i think their main focus going forward will B the OP... 

Round Mountian down by tonopah - kinross/newmont..  when reviewing the Drain well Logs w Nev State - has several of these DW..  RM is above valley floor and lateral into the mountain face..

on the surface - the dike(s) will follow the lie of the mine..

otw if NCI hits a hard artesian - i could see where they will hav problems w mine life cycle..  thats volcanic sediments...  sitting under a very desert floor aquifer...

as to the 3000 tpd..  i don't know if if its related to evnts and fans or the mine simply cannot move ore w major construction UG???
