RE:RE:Inch by inchFozzie et al . I understand ur frustration .But the DR economy is moving in the right direction . This is not some Western First World get it done mentality . It is done methodically , with consideration for the populations , with care for religious beliefs .
In other words, you can ram it down our throats but not theirs . U wanna see GQC lose its right to
mine in the DR ? With the stroke of a pen and a amendment to the new mining law , its done ! And how ? By inflaming the people . And why .......
A LACK OF RESPECT . This is something Westerners in general have no idea about . None . Having lived here over 30 years now , then going to my home country , man o man , u see the difference . If ever the DR and its people believe the GQC team lack respect for the DR and its people , u will see them and their concession kicked out faster than you can say wedding , vacation , mining , or any other word you wish to use !
There are certain members that read these rooms and lack of respect is
EVERYTHING in the DR . And I mean
EVERYTHING . Fortunately , Dave , Bill and their TEAM have been diligent , community-minded , and very respectful of the Dominican way and its culture / traditions / mindset .
We have a winner . It is long past due , but due it is . Nice if something comes out next week ? ! Finally . If you are INVESTING in jrs with less than a 10 years time frame you are gambling , not investing . Sure, u can get lucky and some things turn large in a year two three ect . BUT that is luck .
Quit whining on bullboards people . The day is coming .
San Juan de la Maguana, a leading farming province, now has its San Juan Industrial Free Zone Park. The new industrial area was created by Decree 500-21. The export park has an area of more than 100,000 square meters. Previously, it was authorized by the National Council of Export Free Zones (CNZFE).
Free zone exports are booming. President Luis Abinader attended the “Free Zones, Zones of Opportunities” event held on occasion of the National Free Zones Day.
Abinader said he was proud to announce that Dominican exports were up 28% for the first half of 2021, going from US$4.49 billion in the same period in 2020, to US$5.75 billion in 2021. Exports were up US$1.26 billion, driven mostly by the demand for the products and services offered by the local free zone manufacturing industries. Free zone production increased 21% compared to exports in the pre-pandemic January-June 2019.
Free zone industries here are diverse. Tobacco and derivatives report 80.3% growth. Apparel was up 73.6. Electrical and electronic devices report a 10.1% growth. Medical devices and pharmaceuticals grew 3.7%
