I doubt it.  IMV is responsbile for the delivery vehicle - DPX - which is what's new and Health Canada wants a good look at that before they pronounce whether it's safe.  Look how long it's taken to get going on cancer which is not strictly speaking a novel gene therapy. it could take a similar amount of time to do the COVID one which is a peptide therapy, not because their approach is wrong, but because HC doesn't understand how DPX works in the body across a broad scale of functions.  Once the survivac treatment is approved that should speed the way.

Not to worry - there wil be more coronaviruses, not jsut fvariants.  IMV's approach seems sound - they target specific molecules in the coronavirus spike that don't seem to change ( or at least don't cuirrently show much propensity to change genetically) which si something they can easily model.  And if one of them does change enough to invalidate the entry of the vaccine, there are several others that the vaccine could block.  It seems a sound approach.
