Here is a link to an article appearing in the Duluth New Tribune which reviews the thoughts of the interested parties regarding the completion of Line 3
https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/opinion/columns/7216232-Reaction-to-Enbridge-Line-3-pipeline-beginning-service-on-Oct.-1
The article starts with the thoughts of Winona LaDuke who calls the project a crime against humanity. Then the article moves to 14 politicians who praise the safety precautions taken Enbridge and the significant economic benefits to Minnesotans both during construction and in the future.
The news has reported nothing but how the pipeline was bad for seven years because of the squeaky wheel efforts of a handful of dissident natives and headline grabbing political whoores (who suddenly have nothing to say). The tribe that LaDuke belongs to distanced itself completely from LaDuke's efforts as her tribe and a number of other tribes benefitted enormously from the pipeline.
I bring this up because of another attention whoore in Michigan who has built her reputation on standing up for the people of Michigan with her anti-pipeline stand. The actual people who are affected by Whitmer's political posturing but don't make a living by grandstanding care about the safety and reliability of cost effective energy. But we never hear from them.
Just like the Anishinaabe tribe that distanced itself from Winona LaDuke which we never heard about, the Biden administration has distanced itself from Michigan's Governor Whitemer, but we will never see that in the news. The Line 5 tunnel will happen, just like Line 3 got completed. Why? Because everyone that isn't thinking about their political careers understands the logic.
It's in Bidens hands now. Gloves are off. I think it will happen but it's gonna give both the greenies in both Bidens camp and Trudeau a bit of a bruising but better than the consequences of not doing it.
