At 1.44/lb Zn time is on TVs side for a change. With Zn surging TV is in the unfamiliar situation of having time on their side as they SHOULD be raking in huge profits in Q3 and Q4 is starting off really well. They can afford to wait for a Q or two for this cashflow to heal their balance sheet and avoid dilution before pressing ahead with really capital intensive projects.
The downside to this is there is likely to be an output slowdown between the winding down of Santander and RP2.0 kicking in, but no one knows what the price of Zn will be in that time frame anyway so it seems prudent to take care of the balance sheet based on todays actuallity rather than future prtojections. There is always the chance that improvements at Caribou will make up some of this shortfall.
I don't see that a 6 month delay in RP2.0 has a longterm imopact on the company, but could have a big short term benefit in terms of current shareholder dilution and funding options.
