CommissioningI, like some others here, have been through the commissioning stage of a number of plants.
Before a facility is handed-over for normal operations it should be verified by expert personnel and jointly operated by a combined team of experts and operations personnel, with operator acceptance-sign-off based on satisfactory performance of pre-agreed test criteria. My expectation at this time is that product produced in Q4, 2022 will generate quite modest Revenue to First Cobalt.
BB colleagues have provided useful perspective based on current information and their respective experience:
I interpret that stockdoc73 is correct when he suggests “Refinery put into service 4Q'22 and then ramp up time to commercial production in early '23.”...(but indicating potentially extending through H1, 2023)
Silverad0 provided a useful perspective when he outlined that commissioning means “that a Commissioning Agent or Agents, and Engineers( contractor and operator) are satisfied the process works and the equipment works as intended… you cannot, with professional integrety, declare commissioned without production.”
Jordsword is similarly correct when he writes that “commissioning is a huge positive step and FCC will be in a position to profit from it as well.” “They have hired the best in the business to build and commission.”
The doubt question raised by dothemathpeople on the effective date of consistent operation at specified full capacity throughput level, is normal, and is surrounded by project uncertainties and planned contingencies. Given the engagement of Metso Qutotec commissioning of this plant is in safe hands. Effective date still to be determined IMHO,
Peace,
Good decision-making to All,
