RE:RE:RE:RE:Need some numbers!!Just did some calculations, Risky.
There are 112,000 + First Nations peoples registered in BC. Of those 51,000 + lived on reserves. It is suggested that 17% of those individuals have diabetes which works out to around 8500 people. Very conservatively, testing would take place at least 4 times daily. Glucometers are generally free with the purchase of test kits. The best price is $189 which gets the individual a glucometer, 400 test strips and 400 lancets and a lancing device. So this kit lasts 100 days. After that the individual could purchase 100 test strips (with free lancets and alcohol wipes) for $89. As the best price is the $189 test kit there must be a deal for buying bulk test strips.
At 365 days, each individual requires approximately 1600 test strips. If the best price is $189/400 test strips then 4 x $189/400 = $756 for 1600 test strips per individual.
If, and that may be a big if, all 8500 individuals use the Medisure test kits this could be a $12 million contract over the 2 years. Convention has it that testing could occur as many as 10x/day ...so more than two and a half times as much as I have calculated in total revenues. This is no "small slice of cheese".
Cheers!!!
P.S. If this works out and Medisure got contracts across the country for First Nations people this will be quite the compliment to the clinics ....WOW!!!

Gladly! I'm sure they will release numbers all in good time.
