Some of these gaming properties seem to be transacting at eye-watering sums, but un-Enthusiast-ic can't seem to join the parade. News earlier today:
  • Sony Pictures Entertainment (SONY -0.5%) has a deal to sell its GSN Games unit (part of Game Show Network) to mobile game maker Scopely for about $1 billion in cash and stock.
  • Scopely is taking on GSN Games' portfolio of free-to-play mobile and online games, including Solitaire TriPeaks, Bingo Bash and Wheel of Fortune Slots.
  • And GSN Games CEO Mark Feldman will move over to Scopely and continue overseeing the operation.
  • GSN Games says Bingo Bash has been played by more than 70 million players with a cumulative total of 60,000 years in the game, and that more than 100 million hands are played per week in Solitaire TriPeaks.
  • Scopely's most recent funding round valued the game developer at $3.3 billion.
Its other games include Scrabble Go, Marvel Strike Force, Star Trek Fleet Command, Looney Tunes World of Mayhem, WWE Champions, The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, Yahtzee with Buddies and Wheel of Fortune: Free Play
