As an aside -- it will be interesting to see if the German subsidies are enough to make their plant output price-competitive, and if any producers actually decide to use it. They might successfully play a role similar to DNG in Peru (a never-producer with a profitable plant fed by small suppliers).
AVL's lithium has three serious problems: too small, too distant from cheap transport (costs are exploding right now, but no worries because no production means no deliveries), and too much required processing.
