RE:Observed On and off about posting this comment but still think it appropriate.
I think as retail investors we should stand down on our current GSI buying to give Fidelity a free hand to complete their accumulation. Why get in their way? The sooner completed, sooner the clarity. Anything to prolong it is counterproductive.
They are close in share numbers. No doubt, Fidelity has a tentative timeline in mind, but if they had to, could ram it through with big gob purchases to stay on schedule, -that option likely being a last resort.
The SP move down to a low of .49 and back to .64 suggests discarded shares from sellers have been sopped up. The remainders needed to complete the last inch of final purchases will naturally become more expensive by sheer lack of availability.
Those who keep records of the Fidelity purchases should post more frequently and keep this story front and center.
For the geometers who post on the GSI board (I’m sure they are in the hundreds ha ha) I reference the conic shapes of parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola. The first two shapes fit more the predictable, orbital configuration. The hyperbola, however, is more like what you would see when NASA has a satellite round Jupiter to slingshot it out of the solar system. Comets that pass through our solar system but once also have that wide wing shape of a hyperbola. What am I saying? This is the last .49 flyby where you will ever see it at these levels again.
