RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Update: Newlox Gold Admits to Toxic Cyanide UseFinally, a worthy question and an answer that proves that Newlox undeniably knew, as far back as 2015, that the use of cyanide was not permitted in Costa Rica .
The report you referenced was published in October, 2015 and is entitled:
Metallurgical Study of Gold Recovery From Small-Scale Mine Tailings. “
METALLURGICAL STUDY OF GOLD RECOVERY FROM A SMALL SCALE MINE TAILINGS FROM COSTA RICA GONCALVES, A.1, VEIGA, M.M.2, JACKSON, R.3, MENEZES, S.4, RAMOS, D.5, AVELAR, B.6”
The following statement is a direct excerpt from the first paragraph of the report prepared for Newlox, and actually cites Ryan Jackson as a contributor:
” Although the use of cyanide is not allowed in Costa Rica, the cyanidation of the concentrates with grinding resulted in 87% gold recovery in 12 hours of processing. The idea is to transport the concentrates 200 km to Nicaragua to be leached with cyanide”… The direct link to the report is: https://www.artigos.entmme.org/download/2015/pr%C3%81tica_operacional_em_plantas_de_tratamento_de_min%C3%89rios_e_metalurgia_extrativa/GONCALVES,%20A._VEIGA,%20M.M._JACKSON,%20R._MENEZES,%20S._RAMOS,%20D._AVELAR,%20B.%20-%20METALLURGICAL%20STUDY%20OF%20GOLD%20RECOVERY%20FROM%20A%20SMALL%20SCALE%20MINE.pdf On January 16
th, 2016, a technical report was filed on SEDAR with a description of the mineral extraction process but strangely there was no mention of the use of cyanide or the permitted use thereof. It only described in detail the gravity and flotation processes. If cyanide was being used legitimately, it would have been included in the technical report.
In closing, the company openly admitted in 2015 that they were well aware that cyanide
was not permitted for use in Costa Rica. We definately know that they are not shipping concentrates for cyanidation in Nicaragua, so the only question is, was the company lying then, or are they lying now?
I have a feeling that the article is only a glimpse of what’s coming as a result of the broad exposure of this company’s potentially deceptive practices.
