RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Here it goesI think that given the net worth of Li Ka-Shing, the percentage of ownership in WELL is not critical. Rather, his name and reputation is associated with it, and along with the deep pockets to assist when necessary. In fact it is his assistance Solina Shuen, aged 60-61, who is the real connection to WELL. It is she who had the prior association with Hamed and who spear-headed Li Ka-shing's involvement. I think the financing comes from a separate charitable like portion of Li Ka-shing's wealth and any losses to WELL are likely to have little financial impact on him - rather, its a mission he supports and to some extent his and Solina's reputation is involved. Same goes for Hamed. He has already made his fortune, and its not so much the percentage of his holding here that will motivate him to produce a success. Rather, he will be concerned about legacy building, etc. Incidentally, I have seen suggestions that Hamed does not take a salary, but came across something recently that listed the salaries for officers at WELL, and I did not think to copy it, but it indicated a modest salary for Hamed in the $700 to $800 thousand range as I recall. Very modest for a position such as his, and I would suggest, does not detract at all from his commitment to the success of WELL.
