From the data on California dairy, a large farm in Califirnia can have 15,000 cows with each cow producing 62kg of manure a day for a total of 930,000 kg per day. If this were a small city it would require a waste treatment centre but in "farming" a big clay lined hole with a cover is allowed. (argument for another day) .
Anyway the opportunity to help producers monetize this waste while adding carbon free methane to the grid is what I thought part of Xebecs business case is.. Maas energy has 37 operational digesters with another 50+ in construction and development.
This is not fairy tale Greta stuff just a circular business model which when added to Xebecs other renewable and industrial gas businesses will hopefully generate a long term business with organic growth, recurring revenue streams and attractive growth rates.
but with less than 10% of the planet now living in abject poverty there will continuing growth in consumption and the resultant energy use. Lots of need for both fossil and carbon free energy. 60 yrs of nat gas in reserves that will be needed.
OR
We could stop breeding cows and pigs for consumption and start breeding and eating crickets instead (would apparently be a huge environmental and financial plus worldwide).
