RE:about Q1 delivery !

RE:about Q1 delivery !Its not the workers it is how this industry works. Beginning of the year is always slow. Aerospace parts are very expensive so no one wants to keep their money tied to materials. No company wants to spend on inventory so they wait as long as possible to buy/bring raw materials and then make parts to meet end of month/quarter delivery target. This is why the year starts slow/late. So if they didn't meet monthy target because they didn't get parts on time then they will try to make it within the quarter and make up all the quarterly slack by end of year if quarterly target was missed. In q4 all the slacks are tighten as all buffers and later delivery buffer is gone. Reason bombardier is reporting q4 results 1.3 months after the q4 ended is due to settling all the accounts like receivables, payable etc. This delay is also contributing factor in q1 start as new fiscal year is starting and no is getting paid for q1 while q4 books are settled. Generally Q1 is slow, then it picks up in q2. Q3 is slow again due to summer break and q4 goes into overdrive.

If everyone work as hard and as fast as in the period of Q4, they can just deliver
the close number of planes.  the working hours is the same, the duration of  3 months
is the same. The only differency is the determination is acoomplish the objective is
different ( to arrive at 120 delivery ) Since the goal is achineve there is no need to rush, or to kill yourselves to work that hard. Just take your time and relex. We don't have no deadline to meet. Of course there are some other reasons that might hinder the production rate. In my opinion, workers could work faster and have the potential
ability to deliver more planes as much as in Q4, if they really want to.
