On the subject of bringing new tech to old industry Sharing some peripheral DD here. Here's an interesting example of how a dinosaur industry integrates new battery storage tech into their infrastructure.
Note who will own the equipment - the site? Nope. No doubt a long term lease. Build costs recouped in ~2 years. Article doesn't mention asset lifetime but does state the refinery will save ~10M per year based on this 20MW system.
