What Is Salt Worth??So I'm kicking around some metrics that are pretty current in the mining business. For example, Copper, with a grade of a half % per ton or slightly better in today's market,($4.50) is worth $.15 a lb in situ, or about 3% of the market price. Gold, market @$2,000 oz in situ is worth $80 oz, or 4%. So now Salt. If the market is $50 a ton, ( being conservative) and we value it at say 3%, that means every ton values @ $1.50 in a NAV calculation. We will see once the Feasibility Study is complete, that this deposit holds over a BILLION tons. Thus, when one calculates its value, we could be looking at $1.5 billion, US.
Salt has about 100 million shares outstanding, including options and warrants. That math puts the per-share price at $15 per share. Buyers rarely pay 100% of the NAV in a takeout, but here with the cost factors favorable, (ramp...infrastructure...labor force..etc), this can easily go for 60% of that figure, or $9.00 US per share.
