RE:Why the big deal - Nemaska went bankruptwell, it's good to see the lights are at least still on at DGO, i was starting to wonder if they were EVER goin to do anything! not sure what dispatching a site seeing group to Whabouchi is goin to accomplish but.....
oh yeah NMX, obviously you didn't follow the Nemaska train wreck too closely, still can't seem to get that taste outta my mouth or adjust to the nasty haircut i took. this was & still is a world class deposit there, the site is partially developed, they had also started construction of the processing facility in Shawinigan that was patented. several factors sunk this, mgmt mostly, Guy Bourassa took everybody's $$$, screwed the shareholders.
this was too large of a project for the expertise NMX had, for whatever reason they could not get funding either, eventually got $600M from partners Softbank and others, went way over budget almost immediately, money all gone. The QC government WOULD NOT provide any funding to NMX at any point in this, they refused probably because they had just took a $1B clunk from Stornaway on a f**kn diamond mine that turned out to have no marketable diamonds. once the fire sale started with the assets the government of QC jumped right in for the free lunch.
Whabouchi Li had been tested and offered all over the world, it is a world class Li deposit and basically they only one of it's size in NA, johnson matthey provided analysis of all samples, some bulks were even supplied to potential customers.
my question right now (well one of them) is with all the noise about EV's etc, DGO just decided to send some folks out to look around at the Doris now?? there is lots of documentation on this adjacent deposit from nmx! what happened to the assays from Windfall that, well, went on and on and on with excuses about virus and labs backed up...did they not do them, not send them? lay an egg? nothing burger.... i don't know, guess it's good to see something happen.
