SEPTA's Video Refreshment Program Has Started With GSISEPTA's $21.47 Million (US) or approx $28 Million (Can) Video Systems Refreshment Program has started!!! The program implementation years are 2023 to 2027 so starting this July (SEPTA's fiscal years are from July to June each year so the 2023 year starts July, 2022).
Gatekeeper's work is scheduled to start in April so the SEPTA program is slightly ahead of schedule. Either way, it shows that SEPTA is committed to this video refreshment program. And, it's a great sign that Gatekeeper's contract has started this program.
Gatekeeper's SEPTA contract awarded this week past for the DVR switches & configurations on the New Flyer bus fleet was the beginning of this program. For the next portion of the program, SEPTA is now looking for bus and rail DVR upgrade kits.
Here is the related section from the fiscal 2022 budget. GSI installed crash hardened DVRs on the trains a couple of years ago. It has been GSI's largest SEPTA contract to date. Now, the buses require the crash hardened DVRs. There will be many contracts available through this program. It should be a steady, consistent stream of business for GSI over the next four years of the program.
Video Systems Refreshment Program
Replacement of existing Mobile Video System components and installation of equipment on SEPTA's vehicle fleets including, but not limited to inward facing cameras within Regional Rail Cars and crash hardened digital video recording devices in the bus fleet.
