About the reunion with Peru's President back in September

About the reunion with Peru's President back in SeptemberAs part of investigations about apparent acts of corruption from President Pedro Castillo (of which there are a lot), new information has popped up about Simon Clark's reunion with him back in September, in the US. It turns out that, according to the news show "Cuarto Poder", people close to Castillo was interested to offer $LI some help with their project and in exchange have their construction company contracted for it. Is any "deal" of this kind going to materialize at some point? What exactly would $LI be getting from this? More questions than answers at this point.

Owner of the Sarratea house arranged meetings between Castillo and lithium businessman

On March 14, the Prosecutor's Office raided an apartment linked to the president's nephews. A business card revealed the relationship between Alejandro Sanchez and the Macusani Yellowcake mining company.

During the night of last Monday, March 14, the Money Laundering Prosecutor's Office raided an apartment located on the 30th block of Brasil Avenue, in Magdalena. The building was inhabited by the nephews of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo. There, a business card was found that revealed the strange relationship between Alejandro Sanchez, owner of the Sarratea house, and the Macusani Yellowcake mining company, with strong interests in the lithium industry.

First, Alejandro Sanchez is the owner of the Sarratea house, located in Brena, where the head of state had unofficial visits from politicians and businessmen for weeks. He detailed, before the Congressional Oversight Commission, that he met Pedro Castillo in 2017, during the teachers' strike where he acted as a benefactor. He was also a contributor to the Peru Libre campaign in 2021, by lending the house located in the aforementioned district and paying the rent for the local Paseo Colon where Castillo was proclaimed.

For her part, the businesswoman, investigated and aspiring to be an "effective collaborator", Karelim Lopez declared, before the Prosecutor's Office, that Alejandro Sanchez was a businessman who was very interested in the large mining business linked to lithium. Until now, only statements had been made, but what was revealed by "Cuarto Poder" – this Sunday, March 27 – reveals an approach by Alejandro Sanchez to the lithium industry through the nephews of the head of state.

Castillo's nephews

Returning to the night of March 14 in Magdalena, during the diligence led by prosecutor Luz Taquire, a business card was found bearing the logo of the Macusani Yellowcake mining company, a company that has found one of the minerals in our country most required in the world: lithium. This is present as an essential component in technological devices such as cell phones, tablets, small electronics and a series of highly valued items today.

Ulises Solis Llapa is the manager of Macusani Yellowcake and his name was on the business card found in a garbage can. He confirmed to Cuarto Poder that he had given his card to Jean Marco Castillo Gomez, one of the president's nephews, but who would have been the intermediary and main promoter of this meeting would be Alejandro Sanchez.

The manager met with Jean Marco Castillo, but the person in charge of calling to arrange this meeting was Alejandro Sanchez, according to Solis Llapa. The owner of the house in Sarratea would have told him about the Executive's interest in a project of his company: “(He tells me) Nice to meet you, I am also an entrepreneur and I wanted to see the possibility of presenting the project to the president, which would be very interesting because he was also interested”, recounts the event that occurred in September 2021.

After scheduling the meeting, Alejandro Sanchez and Jean Marco Castillo arrived together at the offices of the Macusani Yellowcake mining company located in San Borja. During this appointment, both were limited to hearing about the benefits of the lithium industry. A few days later, the owner of the house in Sarratea confirmed to Ulises Solis Llapa that he would be received by President Pedro Castillo himself: “Mr. Ulises, the president is happy to receive you. Explain the project to him, he is very happy to receive you in his office”, he told him. This was completed on Thursday, September 16.

The official record of visits to the Government Palace shows that the mining businessman came to this space accompanied by Christian Rosas, political adviser to Macusani Yellowcake, son of the evangelical pastor and former Fujimori congressman, Julio Rosas. In addition to being an activist of "Do not mess with my children" conservative political organization. The meeting lasted six minutes, enough time to arrange a new meeting in the United States.

The meeting abroad took place on Tuesday, September 21, a trip by the President of the Republic in which Alejandro Sanchez was also present, who, when asked about his presence by the press, only managed to say: “I traveled for my own means. I had to do some personal matters and I did go to the hotel where the president was and I was able to talk for a while and precisely with the people who accompanied him, but I traveled with my own means.

A few days later, Sanchez called Ulises by phone, but to offer him a deal between the two of them. The owner of the house in Sarratea is the manager of OMA CONSTRUCTION, a company linked to construction and architecture. According to the mining businessman, after that communication he never had conversations with Sanchez again, but his adviser Julio Rosas warns that they continue to communicate about the lithium project.
