Deployable recorder's !!Do they really plan to retrofit deployable recorders into thousands of commercial planes ? Take plane out of service, cut a hole in it, built a storage place for this 80 lb deployable recorder.......adding how much total weight to plane, what with strengthening around the hole cut, holding system in plane for recorder ..and more. Very silly. AND, the recorder 'capsule' must be deployed before the plane crashes......how much before ? ...... to make sure it's well free of the plane, is the gap of time you have no information on......and that's plain stupid.
