It is better for Corus to be strategic and optimize the order sizing to minimize the average purchase price. Not an exact science since you can't fully predict how far the other party will go to shake out weak hands. As the company continues to pay down debt they could apply for a substantial issuer bid to absorb all the shares held by weak and unsophisticated buyers who run for the exits when the product is on sale.
