RE:RE:Well, I am actually pretty OK with that little COMEX updateOne thing to note is that Nemaska got the federal permit in July of 2015 and then the provincial one the same year in September. Less than three months later.
We are now 9 months after receiving the federal one !!!
With Lithium on the critical list and our "beloved" Quebec politicians publically shouting that they want their province to make a stand and be the battery hub of North America ??
At two different occasions when Fitz was asked why the Rose project was not approved, he pulled the same answer out of his "I am sorry but" bag, and threw the blame on First Nation negociations.
On the other side (CRE) we have the 2019 agreement approved and signed by the grand council and no new questions asked since last fall.
The situation is and has been for a while now "ridiculous"
That being said here is my opinion :
The persons to blame are the ones in authority for the Quebec environment. Who have delegated the Bay James area ground work to Comex and are doing no quality control at all.
Fitzgibbon is just a businessman and will say just about anything in front of the press (meaning that he has no clue why it is taking so long)
So of course we will have our permit. They cannot say no. However it should have been in 2021.
Now we have to deal with a freaking recession scare triggered by the Ukraine war.
