This is not name dropping.  Knowing who the other investors are in your company is very basic to good investing and I am surprised that anyone would think this is controversial.  To suggest that these disclosures/"name dropping"  from the company make it sound like a "penny stock" looks like a real stretch to find a negative to promote an agenda of shorting the stock.
