RE:RE:Apples vs Oranges You could be very right Socrates regarding the Apple license and a Wilan sale.
I;ve asked several times, in different ways, regarding the Apple license and it is clear that Apple may be holding a sword of Damocles over Wilan's head if the terms of the deal are leaked out. QTRH is, imo, paranoid over this.
The question then is, WHY?
Certainly, it cannot be money, as that seldom is an issue with Apple in its litigation settlements. Further, the inital cash inflow from the Apple deal is easily identified in QTRH's Q1 financials. That leave one main thing imo. Apple does not want to have any information disclosed that could undermine its business strategy.
The answer is USB-C. USB-C will soon be a standard in Europe. Wilan has strong IP that it acquired from Western Digital (I believe). As no such USB-C units have ever been sold by Apple, such a license would be a running royalty and, as I understand the accounting standards, it would only be taken into revenue when the units are sold and reported.
Food for thought.
