RE:Nutballs must hate LoukasMoney managers like Nuttall do not go on television to help you invest.
They go on TV to advance their own interest.
That can be marketing for their fund (ie attempt to bring in new clients)
It can be trying to draw attention to positions they have built up, to try to boost their share price.
It can be trying to increase buying volume on a position they are in the process of selling.
Ie, it can be for any reason that will increase their net worth.
They are not there to advance your net worth.
They are not going to tell you about anything they are in the process of accumulating.
If there is a comparable that is being accumulated (indicated by higher volume and increasing price), and the TV commentator is not talking about it - that is deliberate. Its an indication they are accumulating themselves, or they don't want people to wonder why they missed it.
If there is a comparable that is being accumulated, which the TV commentator missed out on, then they may make negative comments about the company. From a fund marketing point of view, it gives them the appearance of having intentionally not participated, rather than just missing the boat.
Everything they say, or choose not to say, should be considered from the above perspective.
Nutall apparently has no position in OBE. He represents himself as an expert in oil/gas investment, which is inconsistent with him having missed out on a 4000+% increase in OBE.
At the last BTE quarterly Q&A Nuttall volunteered that he was the largest individual share holder of BTE. Given that holding, it is to be expected he will spend his TV time talking about BTE's strengths, and not their weaknesses. In my view that is self serving promotion.
I don't think Nuttall hates Loukas. I think he missed the OBE boat, and doesn't want to draw attention to that fact - because it undermines his image as an expert in oil and gas investment decisions.
