A quick check at TMX Money shows CAR.UN trading at 0.75 Book, which I think is very cheap for a REIT this big and diversified in a sector (residential) that is safer than most others (as they say, everyone needs a place to live).

The Kenney purchase + the share buybacks are certaintly great signs that both the CEO and company management as a whole believe the REIT is signfiicantly undervalued, especially since the balance sheet and debt terms/obligations appear to be more sound and favourable than other Canadian Residential REITs, thus having cash available to do both share buybacks and perhaps even make another acquisition if the price is right.

I'm quite bullish on this name.
