I agree with your statement that a lot of rigs will soon become available in Western Canada, but this is only temporary. During breakup, many rigs do shut down because of road bans and sereval "winter access" only sites shutting down for the season. Most of these rigs will be pre-booked for summer drilling, and will get back into operation in May or June, weather depending. Also, CQV will require a rig with working depth capacity of about 4000 meters or more. Due to the demand for these rigs, if one does become available, my bet is that it would be snapped up very quickly for western operations.
