RE:RE RE: Gatekeeper slipping Everyone knows, or should know that the retail players have little effect on the SP of really any microcap company. The microcap space gets hit first and is always the last to recover, their is also no institutional interest in any of these names at this time.
Hell there is next to no institutional interest in the small and midcap space, that is because right now there is no clear direction given to these markets by our policy makers on both sides of the border. No different in Europe either, where inflation is even higher.
We are being pushed into a deep global reccesion, the writing is already on the wall. Retail investors selling stocks now in all the above mentioned spaces do not want to hold for the next 12 to 24 month's, maybe longer. Institutional house's are waiting on the sidelines with plenty of cash for that ellusive signal that it is time to buy.
The GateKeeper's of the world will be last in line to grab any institutional money scraps left over, unless these companies have earth shattering press release's and not just one. It would take several eye popping big money contracts to get the big money buying in my view. Otherwise there is no hurry, the global economies are in a state not seen in many years, inflation still rising, interest rates already forcing some people to sell and flooding the markets with over priced homes.
The rumour is that the bank of Canada will raise rates next month any where between 3/4 to 1%. How will people survive? Even if you are lucky enough to be locked in now, what happens when it comes time to renew. Don't forget the adult population under 40 years of age has never experienced these crazy times and their debt load is rediculous.
So money for playing the markets is all but gone for many people, no wonder there is such small trading volume on so many stocks. If you didn't sell way back now, you can still sell at a loss, or wait out the storm. Common sense tells me it is going to take some time before a lot of these names come back. Sorry for the negative commentary, it is the reality we are all living in these days.
