Whitecap Resources Inc. is an oil-weighted growth company. The Company is engaged in the business of acquiring, developing and holding interests in petroleum and natural gas properties and assets. Its core areas include the West Division and East Division. Its West Division is comprised of three regions: Smoky, Kaybob and Peace River Arch (PRA). The properties in its Smoky region include Kakwa and Resthaven, all located in Northwest Alberta. The primary reservoir being developed is the Montney resource play, mainly comprised of condensate-rich natural gas. Kaybob is located in the Fox Creek region of Northwest Alberta. RE:Holy Cr ap NewsProbably explains why the stock has been relatively week in the past couple of months.
I like the Dividend increase, but I HATE  the size of the debt they added. The divy was going to go up either way, with or without the acquisition. Now we have to worry about a bank term loan and the debt overhang for the next 4 years. If they were able to hedge 32k boe/d at current prices for the next 4 years, I guess I would be fine with this.. Might be  scary tomorrow with the market reaction.   .
