Yes, Luc was good but as the saying goes, "what have you done for me lately?" No dividend raise in 10 years. He got the share price up from $5 but since 2014, it has languished. There have been many upward spikes but they always fall back. His moves to reduce the dividend by 1/2 when he got in and then pay down debt were all obvious.
Again, he was good, or rather, good enough. Time for someone else to have a turn. I wouldn't be surprised if Brookfield has pushed for Luc to retire and have somebody better in mind.
