Not sure if one scenario is better than the other. 

jumped ship just means he left on his own maybe had a better opportunity or maybe he saw problems with the company and decided to leave, we just don't know  

The other option is he was fired either for just cause or maybe some other dispute. 

Again as I said before it could be something or could be nothing we won't know without the actual details so no point speculating whether it was good or bad. 

As big rig pointed out executives leave companies all the time for whatever reason not necessarily a big deal. 

i'm looking forward to hearing some reports of people that go on the tour just the fact that the company is opening the doors is good enough for me , I think that can be put to rest that they're trying to hide something now. 

I still think openness and transparency are the best business practises to instill confidence. 

by all means protect the IP as far as possible without appearing to hide something. 

It looks like the have figured out how to do that , I'm sure Ed will make sure of that.
