I was somewhat similar but at $4.60 in 2018, I didn't buy at the lows when we should have, but I have added at 5.05 early this year and looking at maybe adding more.
My pain on this isn't as bad as yours on this one... but wait for the next 2+ and start laughing at me...
I bought 207 shares of CPG for $30.05 during the major crash, I think I jumped in when it was at 75/oil thinking it couldn't get worse than 70... I kind of paired it with 106 shares of BNE as a gas play at $54.50... I should have jumped out when I realized me thesis was flawed and outright wrong, but I was young and dumb and altho the share prices were collapsing they were still payout out well and of course that stopped and now I'm just holding as a reminder of how stupidly stubborn I could be... hindsight also says I should have added at lows to reduce pain, but boy do I like a good kick in the nutz...
I have a few other ugly purchases around that time including Twin Butte Energy which got slain, BDI which has took 4-5 years to recover but I sold off with like 70-80% losses, SDX Energy which was moved to UK exchange after a like 30% fall and I disposed of it. I have gotten lucky as I've had Altagas for several years and have seen the value of that investment drop over 50% twice and am still just under my purchase price on but because of dividends I have a total return on paper of 17% (but not worth the 6ish years I've held it for)..
Most of us make these mistakes, but even with my bad moves I've still over doubled my moneys value from what I've invested in my accounts over the past 8+years by making some very solid investments, without my poor moves I might have 3-5X my money...
