RE:RE:API crude oil reportThanks for acknowledging my message marketsense , I know I am not alone in either my disgust with our government or concerns for our energy security . I spent over 30 years doing my part to keep Canada mobile working from pump-jacks to refineries and to see people treat this industry like a Vietnam vet makes me sick to my stomach .
This country has pissed away every advantage we ever had and it continues today . We could be world leaders in aviation , telecom and specialty metals but we threw away the Avro Arrow , Nortel , Blackberry and the list goes on . We have iron ore and nickel but we buy out stainless steel from other countries . We could be net energy exporters but instead we import Saudi/Opec+ oil because Quebec shook its a$$ and said "no Alberta oil" but we allow Quebec to mine and sell Asbestos . Talk about being disfunctional .......... BUDGETS DON'T BALANCE THEMSELVES and PROSPERITY IS PLANNED FOR , IT DOESN'T JUST HAPPEN .
Climate change is the dog whistle that clouds the needed discussion on energy transition , ESG deficiencies in rare earth metal mining and electrical grid upgrades required . The argument is full of holes , ocean levels have been higher and lower than today , temperatures have been hotter and colder than present but when only looking at 50 years of data , its easy to warp reality . 20,000 years ago Canada was under 2 miles of glacial ice , where did it go ? 5000 years ago the Sahara was a fertile grassland , did Egyptian polution turned it into a sandbox ? During 1ad to 400ad the Mediterreanean rose one full meter and where did it come from ? Well Virginia , it was melting and retreating glaciers that provided that water . How about an 8 year drought in the US between 1930 and 1938 that turned the prairies into desert .
The one constant about climate/weather is that it continually changes but it keeps people talking about something other than the real problem staring them right in the face . When feces does hit the fan , there will be hell to pay . You'll be amazed how peoples priorities change when they can see their breath indoors .
