RE:Interesting Posts on Drosrite and Spent Pot Lining

RE:Interesting Posts on Drosrite and Spent Pot LiningBcont...NONE of these articles are related with plasma torch or PYR one way or the other...For your info: 1) the 2016 article from India generates its plasma with carbon electrodes.not a plasma torch. . ( All carbon electrodes electric furnaces generate a plasma gas to heat and melt their materials Why? Because you can run at very high power > 50 MW ). 2) RioTinto process more than 80,000 tons per year of SPL at their Saguenay plant with a low temperature hydro metallurgical process. Similar approach under R&D for bauxite residue ( red mud). Sorry to rain on your parade...but if you want to pump and promote PYR...at least you should know what you are talking about...Do some serious DD...at the risk of misleading the others...GLTA.

@cargo Upstream from drosrite..... this is a research paper that tested a DC plasma torch upstream from the Bayer process. "significant research effort globally is being applied to address this challenge through the application of novel technologies. One such unique and state-of–the-art process is the plasma reduction process which envisages the reduction of iron oxide present in bauxite prior to being fed to the Bayer Process for the extraction of alumina" https://icsoba.org/assets/files/publications/2016/AA20S.pdf This very well could be the $40M project(s).

@cargo  This was recently published by International Aluminum Organization on Spent Pot Lining https://international-aluminium.org/resources/spent-pot-lining/ and this one bauxite residue https://international-aluminium.org/resource/bauxite-residue-an-introduction-factsheet/ The International Aluminum industry is funded by the European Union and are looking for solutions.

Very interesting projects that are trying to find solution for SPL and bauxite residue. Rio Tinto is a listed as a partner. Rio Tinto in also involved with another company with a pilot project involving "valourization" of bauxite residues, curious if this process would be somewhat similar to $PYR valourization process?

Long and Strong in PyroGenesis!
