"Potential new economic deposits are concealed under cover at greater depths and thus more difficult, and expensive, to find. Geophysics plays an ever more important role in the exploration for economic mineral deposits, including the alkalic porphyry Au--Cu systems
Additionally, most economic orebodies commonly generate rather weak and subtle geophysical signatures or, in places, none at all. It is obvious that the application of geophysical technology in mineral exploration is, at least to some degree, responsible for the current state of declining performance, but at the same time it is hoped that current advances in the interpretation of geophysical data will also represent an important element of the solution"
