A friend and I have checked out a few different EV Expos the last few months, it has been made very clear by the speakers and the governments that EV is on it's way. At one expo a speaker mentioned that the province of Alberta is looking to install over 25 000 charges this year alone. According to another speaker one of the things Tesla has done extremely well is their charging infrastructure. Their vehicles will map out your entire route, charging stops, time at each stop and costs. Others will need to follow this as they network together. They showed what various charging stops will look like along highway routes. It was very interesting. Some of the vehicles are very impressive.
Most people are going to install minimum a level 2 charging stations in their home with the government rebates. I would almost say level one chargers will be obsolete. Many of the older people said they would install a level 1 in their homes because they don't drive that much and have the time to let the vehicle charge as level one can take quite some time to charge the vehicle. So initially there will be a small market for level ones, but for all practical purposes I would say level one charges are already basically obsolete for younger people and couples.
