The issue of ownership and compensation may be a stumbling block. I think that in the eyes of the DOJ, Freeport McMoRan still owns the mineral tenure. I could be wrong about how it all plays out though.
One option that jumps out to me is a deal that sees tonnage from Alberta reporting to Brandenberg. Recall the MOU's Canada signed with Germany a few weeks back. Speculation on my part, really just trying to connect some of the dots. For the time being, I am going to assume that no refined product produced by Sherrit will report into any North American cathode active material supply chains.
