RE:RE:RE:RE:Government knee capping oil and gas Well yes and no re JT and Freeland. JT and Freeland are trying to position Canada
towards an energy green future with renewables and battery storage technologies
powering its energy needs. That is a global trend but will it replace fossil fuels or
will we still be reliant on them until such time as this transition is complete?
While the push is on for more technological advances to enable this transition to
move forward, I suggest we will be reliant on fossil fuels as a bridge for a long time
yet. Battery storage and efficient electrical hardwiring and circuitry of the grid to
optimize electrical use is a massive undertaking and will take years to achieve IMO.
It will happen but in the meantime we absolutley need fossil fuels and therefore need
to continue to support and encourage the fossil fuel industry. By acknowledging our
dependance it makes no sense to demonize and punish the industry. Can't we walk
and chew gum at the same time. JT is looking at the future but is failing to acknowledge the present and Freeland is a very intelligent, tough negotiator who
has grown into her role despite not having the appropriate academic financial
background for her position. Both of them are futuristic in their vision but need to
manage the present in a more practical and realistic way. Do you need a better
example of what not to do than Europe?
