I do believe the planet is dangerously warming due to modern human activities and scientists have known this for many years and have been issuing warnings. These for the most part have gone unheeded by governments, industry and individuals worldwide. Meanwhile the planet gets increasingly warmer and is approaching a tipping point by 2050, the year scientists have forecast for all sorts of ecological disasters. If we want to wait until then and some Pearl Harbour like climate event forces our hand then the cost will be astronomical. If we wisely and pre-emptively and willingly start to heed the scientific warnings and begin making significant changes to the status quo the cost in money and lives and property damage will be much much less.

You certainly like to use the "Pearl Harbour event" characterization. You see the climate crisis as being a sneak attack one early Sunday morning at some point? Try not to be so dramatic.

Just as an aside can I ask what age group you are in and where you got your education? Just wondering how, when and where you got 'influenced'. For the record I was born in 1940, so, if nothing else, I have 82 years of experience in seeing, watching, and feeling climate change. I have absolutely no concern that the world will self destruct in 12 years from the effects of climate change.
Going cold would be a lot more concern than global warming but that will also not suddenly happen regardless of how much carbon you try to remove. I certainly will not be around to see how this all changes but I do detest fear mongering on whims and not on reality.

One more and I will bow out of this discussion so as not to clutter the board more than I have already:
