Glad I sold this POS !Before the you-know-what hit the fan. It was never anything more minor dabble for me. If you still own this POS get ready for the dividend cut. Frankly I equate the renewable energy sector to the Crypto market...nothing more than an over-priced fad. Most renewable utility companies I look out seem to trade at ridiculously high multiples of 40+ earnings. Which seems rather high for an industry with relatively low ROE's. This is even more apparent to me when I compare them to the blue chiper power producers like Emera and Fortis which trade at half these multiples.
The only renewable power company I would remotely recommend is Brookfield Renewable only because they have very deep pockets, but even they don't make money. Renewable power is an expensive form of power for the amount of power they actually produce. The solar panels and wind turbines belong on our roofs not solar/wind farms.
AQN seemed the darling of renewable energy sector at least in Canada, every analyst and their dog seemed to be recommending them. In my eduated opinion what recently happenend with this POS is the first shot across the bow for many other renewable energy companies.
