We've heard you. There is a need for more civil and focused discussion on Stockhouse. Our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive community where people can share their thoughts and information about small cap stocks in Canada and the U.S. We want an active and lively discussion that helps investors gain greater insights into their investment decisions.
Behind the scenes we have been building state of the art Community Management tools and reviewing our Community Policies to ensure that we are much better positioned to help the community find their voice in a constructive way.
As of Monday November 28, 2022 we will be making changes!

Stricter Compliance to Community Policies
With thousands of Bullboard posts being generated by the community on a daily basis the challenge is to identify all possible content that may be violating our Community Policies. To this end we have:
- Improved our Community Management tools to more accurately identify content that's non-compliant
- Increased the size of our Community Management team so we can more rapidly review more content on a daily basis
- Reviewed and restructured our Community Policies to be clearer and more concise
- Dedicated ourselves to assisting members in understanding what's good content and what's not
We will be using the improved team and processes to help ensure a stronger and more focused discussion takes place.

We Need Your Help
Even with the changes we're making, you, as a member of Stockhouse, can help us out. We can't review every post, therefore, you're part of the solution in helping us weed out that undesirable content. You can:
- Familiarize yourself with our Community Policies
- See something, say something. Use the Report Abuse button when you see content that's questionable. If you report it, we'll review it.
- If you choose to use our Ignore User function, please also Report Abuse on any content that may have lead you to making that choice

Improved Transparency
Moving forward it's important to us that members know what actions are being taken against their account or posts. We believe that the best approach is to help educate and shift behaviour of members that are non-compliant, and to that end, we will make sure that members know if their content is non-compliant with our Community Policies. If this information is repeatedly ignored then the Community Management team will, at their discretion, suspend or disable a member's account.
As of November 28, a member will receive a message from the CommunityManagement user in their "My Messages" inbox whenever an action is taken against the member's account or one of their posts. A member may also recieve a message if the Community Management team wishes to provide comment on aspects of the member's participation on a Bullboard.
Our hope is that this improved transparency will lead to better decisions by the small group of members that sometimes reduce the quality of conversation on site.

Changes to Community Policies
We've reviewed our Community Policies and will be rolling out the following changes. All other Community Policies will remain in effect. You can view the current Community Policies on our Support website.
The 'Spam' policy will be its own category and covers the same content being posted across multiple Bullboards without consideration to the relevance of the post content. All content must be applicable to the Bullboard it is placed on. A member is not permitted to blast the same content across multiple Bullboards.

Advertising The 'Advertising' policy will be its own category and covers the posting of content on site that is intended to promote or advertise off-site third-party content. The Bullboards are not an advertising channel for third-parties and should not be used as such.
The 'Off Topic' policy is new and will cover content that is posted on a Bullboard but is not relevant to: (a) the Company, (b) the Company's products and services, (c) the Sector the Company operates in, or (d) the general discussion at large. The Bullboards are not a general public chat forum where any topic is ok; we are focused on Investors and in the sharing of information and discussion on stocks.
The 'Bullying' policy is new and will cover content that is used to intimidate or "push down" another member. Any repeated and persistent postings directed at another member for the sole purpose of attacking, insulting, or trolling a member will be removed. Some good spirited bantering is OK, after all that's part of the social contract, but anything that begins trolling or persistently targetting another member will be removed.
The 'Multiple Accounts' policy is new and will cover users that are attempting to sign up and use multiple accounts on Stockhouse. There is no good reason to have multiple accounts at Stockhouse other than to troll other members, game your own reputation, or as an attempt to circumvent suspensions of your account. If multiple accounts are identified the duplicates will be removed.
Thank You!
We will provide more details about the changes that are upcoming between now and November 28. Our goal is to provide a better experience for every member on Stockhouse and will be working hard to do that. Should you ever have any feedback, questions or concerns about how the Community is managed please reach out via email to our Community Management team at community@stockhouse.com.
