RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Earnings vs EBITDA (for Mephisto)
The November 22 PR only states that "expressions of interest....have been received by the Company".
This could mean anything from initial contacts by potential buyers indicating they are interested in possibly buying the company and wish to be allowed to do their due diligence and look under the hood of CTS via a NDA, to being in the midst of their examination of the inner workings of the company, to forumulating an offer, to actually having made the offer already.
If CTS and its shareholders believe the company's financial position, revenue performance, and share price will improve as the months pass, a longer process would be a net benefit.
Conversely, if rising interest rates and stubborn inflation continue into 2023, the share prices of small cap Canadian tech companies with significant debt could face further declines as these two critical measures (both previous and ongoing rate hikes and inflation) make their way through the system / economy in additon to the lag time between when interest rate announcements are made and when such rates filter down to a given company. Thus, hard to say when the best time would be for potential buyers to present firm offers that the BOD would appove and recommend to shareholders.
